You Give Me Butterflies Wedding Inspiration

We’ve gone crazy for this fanciful shoot from Planning for Paradise. Innovative to the core, this world of enchantment begins with a stunning DIY butterfly backdrop that sweeps you into all the motion and invites you to stay a while. Verdigris Photography catches every minuscule detail, from the thick brushstrokes on the cake to the custom crest to the metallic table settings that add a kiss of color. And did you catch the glass-blown knobs securing each place card? Ethereal in shades of teal, it doesn’t get better than this!

From the event designer and planner, Planning for Paradise: My inspiration for this styled shoot started when I first visited Magnolia Bridal in downtown St. Charles. I was actually visiting this shop for another style shoot I had planned and I was surprised by what I saw when I arrived… Not only did this sweet little boutique display the dreamiest + unique wedding gowns, the storefront wall was adorned with perfectly cut out butterflies in the prettiest shades of blue. Immediately my creative juices started flowing. I went from planning one styled shoot to two – in a matter of seconds.

Love is like a butterfly, it settles upon you when you least expect it. I wanted the color palette to be light + airy mixed with richer tones to compliment the changing from summer to fall. This color combo of pretty blues, copper / gold accents + industrial dark flatware, did just that. A quote written in calligraphy on a silk ribbon, wrapped around the flatware + the layered place setting that matched the color palette, were my favorite parts.
