Hopefully you’re ready to kick off your week with some color, because this Aussie wedding has got plenty of it. An absolutely all-star team of vendors including Kate Robinson Photography, Georgeous, and Cecilia Fox came together to make Bec and Will’s wedding day one of the most beautiful ones we’ve seen (and as an added fun fact, the groom is actually the brother of the event designer, Georgie of Georgeous!).
From the bride, Rebecca: From the first meeting with our wedding planner (who also happens to be the groom’s sister) we knew we wanted the day to be full of fun and colour. We are a pretty laid back, somewhat crazy couple so we wanted this reflected in the day but with absolutely no idea where to start (and not an ounce of DIY between us). The Georgeous team and our unbelievable florist were able to make sense of our confused mumblings and on the day this took the form of balloons in the pool and behind the bar, bright coloured tassels hanging from everywhere, an AstroTurf aisle runner and a custom printed backdrop where the ceremony took place. This also cleverly became the backdrop for our pictures. Georgie (Georgeous) was constantly thinking about styling for the day, sourcing Kate Spade coasters in our wedding colours and custom printed napkins only weeks prior. We had a guitarist swoon the guests as they arrived and also afterwards whilst they sipped on lychee martinis and mojitos. The table used for the signing of the register belongs to the groom’s grandmother, and had also been used for our sister in law Georgie’s wedding.
One of our bridesmaids was due to give birth a few weeks before the wedding and with all the bridesmaids living in different States, I wanted it to be easy for them to find a dress they loved so we went online and they each picked their favourite. I stumbled upon the Ted Baker flower girl dresses whilst shopping one day and knew they were just what I wanted… So much so that I bought the only sizes in stock and had them remade to fit. On the day, whilst the girls primped and prepped at home and had catering delivered, the groomsmen and fathers had a chef prepare them breakfast and Will gave them custom made wooden bottle openers and striped socks for the day. The bridesmaids and I had to make a mad dash in our Plum Pretty robes on the day between venues when traffic caused some unwanted delays. After dark we had mini burgers and boxes of fish and chips arrive to keep the guests going into the final hours.
Our ceremony and personalised vowels were our favourite part of the day. Our incredible celebrant helped us create the most beautiful ceremony which our guests said set the tone for the rest of the day, along with the fact it took two of us to get the groom’s ring on (that thing is never coming off). We only snuck away for 15 minutes for photos (our brother-in-law/driver may nearly have violated some traffic laws getting us there) but it was absolutely perfect as we managed to have some time on our own for the first time as Husband and Wife.
