Intimate Wedding Weekend in Sicily

Sicily Destination Wedding 03

Sicily is high on my bucket list, and Meggie and Emre’s wedding are giving me the travel bug! White washed walls, bright and airy spaces with a gorgeous view + cactus and greenery galore to boot. To make the most of their destination weekend, they turned their wedding into a 3-day event for their guests, which started with a welcome dinner the day before the wedding and a day after get together before their guests went on their own journeys. Let’s take a peek!

Maggie and Emre come from the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, they both love to travel when they need a breath of fresh air from their busy Silicon Valley lives. They visited Italy together for the first time in the summer of 2017 and fell in love with the scenery, the culture, and of course, the food. After deciding to get married, naturally, they looked for wedding locations in Italy.

They love the beauty of endless blue waters and lush mountain ranges reaching from the sea to the sky and they never miss out on delicious food. They wanted their wedding to be simple yet elegant with a touch of romance. Luckily, they stumbled upon Principe di Salina, a beautiful boutique hotel on the magical island of Salina, Sicily, and its amazing wedding planner and hotel owner, Anita, to help make their dreams come true.

Their number one focus of the wedding is for their guests to have the time of their lives – after all, their guests are traveling from all over the world: from California to Izmir, from New York City to Beijing. Their second focus is the have every moment captured and documented so they can reminisce this day for the rest of their lives. They worked with Anita on all of their wedding details: flowers, music, food, schedule, and of course, choosing a unique gift for their international guests. They worked with Les Amis on documenting their 3-day wedding party.

In order for their wedding guests to take all that Salina has to offer, Maggie and Emre planned for a 3-day wedding party. The first day consisted of a wedding dinner with the immediate family and a wine & dessert soiree with all guests. The second day was the wedding day. On the third day, guests had the freedom to go hike Monte Fossa Della Felci or check out Lingua during the day and come together in the evening to watch the sunset in Pollara, where Il Postino was filmed.
