Wedding Invitations Turned Wedding Cake Inspiration
One of the keys to a truly beautiful wedding? Cohesion. From the very first news of your upcoming wedding vows to the last slice of cake at the end of the night, an underlying motif helps your guests understand what to expect and keeps everything perfectly tied together. In order to illustrate how you can carry your design throughout various wedding elements, we’ve enlisted the help of cake designer Heidi of Sugar Bee Sweets to craft three wedding cakes inspired by three different wedding invitations, from Noted Occasions, A Good Day Inc., and Beacon Lane. We have Ben Q Photography to thank for the lovely images and Jen Rios Weddings for lending her creative eye for design!
First on the roster is the striking boho floral wreath invitation from Noted Occasions. Heidi of Sugar Bee Sweets created a three-tiered cake with a honeycomb design embedded into fondant, and topped it off with some of the most delicate and breathtaking sugar flowers we’ve seen yet.
The brand-new metallic invitation from A Good Day Inc. is a perfect choice for modern couples, featuring a marbling detail and cutout detailing for the names. Heidi turned this invite into an equally modern wedding cake, boasting two black tiers with gold marble accent and a bottom tier with faux wood grain.
The tropical greenery wedding invitation from Beacon Lane is on-trend for 2017, featuring leafy goodness tied up with a classic grosgrain ribbon. Sugar Bee Sweets replicated the monogram and ribbon from the invitation onto the cake itself, adding carefully crafted leaves to the bottom tier of the cake for a truly inspired look.
Thank you all for your wonderful work on this shoot!
