Nothing makes us happier than a well-done garden wedding, and that’s precisely what you’ll find with this vintage Australian affair. Particularly touching is the level of involvement between the bride and her grandmother, who helped with various elements of the day, from the wedding cake to the wedding invitations. Karalee of Angel-Smith Photography captured all of the wedding bliss just expertly, don’t you think?
From Karalee of Angel-Smith Photography: the wedding was held at Chateau Tanunda in the Barossa Valley (a wine region) in South Australia. Their names are Janaki and Rohan and have a love of good food and wine. They made their own wedding cake, Janaki’s grandmother did the icing flowers and also hand-stitched the reception stationery. Janaki has a really unique style and so the details were fairly fabulous. She also “modded” her dress from a shop-bought dress. They did a “first look” at Jacob’s Creek Retreat, also in the Barossa, as they didn’t have a lot of spare time after the ceremony.
From the bride, Janaki: we envisioned a wedding that reflected us and our personalities. We incorporated things into the wedding that were important to us (not because the wedding industry dictates a certain way or particular element). We wanted to celebrate the occasion with a fabulous party with all our friends and to have great wine, food and dancing! Flowers and a good photographer were also particularly important to us.
The bouquets and flowers on the table had a ‘just been picked’ look and were in coloured vintage looking vases of varying sizes and heights. The bouquets and flowers included deep burgundy, red, pale and hot pink and lime green seasonal flowers, roses, calla lilies, molluca balm, rice flower, berries and David Austin roses. We had lots of candles on the table to give a relaxed dinner party vibe and collected vintage crystal bowls and vases to put the candles in.
