Tara and John share a love of discovering new restaurants, so it makes sense that a big part of their wedding day would be focused around good food. Bedford Post Inn fit the bill with both beautiful scenery and delectable goodies, while True Event planned everything and Hana Floral Design shone on floral design. Thanks to Pat Furey for capturing this day so well!
From the bride, Tara: Many of our favorite memories together over the years involve exploring new restaurants. So when it came to choosing a location for our wedding, we knew finding a venue with amazing food and an intimate dining experience was a must. We had been to Bedford Post before for brunch at The Barn and fell in love with the aesthetic of the space—rustic chic meets classic elegance with the comfort of home. When we went back to Bedford as a potential wedding venue and toured the rest of the property we knew that we had found something special. And the fact that a charming stone church for our ceremony was located right down the road in the historic section of town made it all the more perfect.
The layout of the inn naturally lends itself to the intimate atmosphere that we were hoping to create: 4 distinct spaces that our guests could experience throughout the evening and charming guestrooms for our family and bridal party to spend the night. On a perfect summer afternoon, guests were greeted with rosé and Prosecco by the reflecting pool where they enjoyed passed canapes and an instrumental set by The Silver Arrow Band. They then moved into the main Farmhouse Dining Room for dinner. We played to the natural romantic setting of the dining room by focusing on the lighting, table settings, and music. The goal for dinner was to share a proper seated meal with family and friends to give everyone a chance to enjoy the food and conversation before moving outside for live music and dancing. The rustic wood tables were lined with lanterns and votives and decorated with garlands of eucalyptus, jasmine vines, and various greens. Tucked among the greens were blooms of neutral/blush roses. Guests dined on Campagna staples, including cappelletti, lobster, and filet of beef. A speakeasy style lounge adjacent to the dining room was the perfect meeting place for friends to catch-up over a martini or Manhattan.
After dinner, guests were ushered outside to the patio. Under a clear tent adorned with bistro lights, family and friends enjoyed live music by The Silver Arrow Band who had everyone up on their feet. An extra touch was the dessert bar located off the dance floor, which was stocked with delicious treats. For those who wanted to keep the party going, the Barn’s loft space and adjacent garden transformed into the ideal summer night after party. In the loft, NYC DJ Michelle von Mandel supplied the perfect feel-good beachy tunes for those who were up for a late night dance party. Through the large farmhouse loft doors the music spilled out into the garden where a roaring fire pit made for a relaxed setting for those who wanted to lounge and enjoy a late night cocktail / snack. We could not have imagined a more incredible day and feel so fortunate to have shared it with our closest family and friends. A huge thank you to the extremely talented True Event, Hana Floral, and Bedford Post team for helping us to create and achieve our vision and to Pat Furey Photography for putting their unique lens on the day.
