Tropical Glamping Wedding Inspiration with Moody Hues

We’ve seen some beautiful bright + cheery tropical inspo shoots lately, but today’s shoot takes on a moodier tone with editorial styling. The magical team of Izzy Hudgins Photography, Emily Burton Designs, and Flower General created a truly lush scene, welcoming us into the fall season with inspiring looks and great outside-the-box ideas.

From the floral provider, Flower General: There are few flowers as lush and exotic as tropicals like orchids and anthurium. When combined with oversized and bold tropical foliage, the result is vivid and dramatic. All to often, these statements are reserved for summer weddings with bright shades of yellow and coral to bounce off of true greens, and they are super hardy for July and August heat. But what about all of the deeply hued tropicals? The burgundies, rusts, and aubergine leaves? So we set off to create an autumnal wedding inspiration rich in tropicals and colors. Keeping with this new take, we really wanted to play, so bring on fabulous fashion, editorial hair and makeup, and glamping venue. West Elm textiles and accessories added that extra glam to Coldwater Gardens beautiful setting.

From the event designer, Emily Burton Designs: Our idea for this shoot was a young couple who fell in love over annual Fall family camping trips. They decided to elope where it all began, in tents #3 and #5, and shared a beautiful Fall feast with their families. The food was prepared by the families, like it always had been, and served in a campfire setting. Rustic skillets, wooden cheeseboards, and an old wooden table was enough to present their colorful fall food favorites. Instead of dessert, the couple opted for fresh baked breads, cheeses and fruit with home churned butter.
