Any day of the week is a good day for some Old Hollywood Glam, especially when it’s coming from the creative minds of Steven Leyva Photography, Vita Bella Events, and Unique Floral Designs. This talented team took a ranch venue and gave it a “classically elegant” treatment, surrounding the venue with chic shades of white and gold accented by a vintage blue auto and a seriously eye-catching black and gold wedding cake.
From the event coordinator, Vita Bella Events: When we were approached by the Camarillo Ranch House to create a styled shoot for their new marketing campaign, I knew that it needed to be something special and that would stand out amongst all of the ‘burlap and mason jar’ white noise. This could prove to be tricky for this particular venue, as it can be easily shot/styled as rustic, considering this was once a working ranch and there is a very large red barn on the property. However, there are other locations on the property that can tend to get overlooked with the ‘Rustic Craze’ and that is what we all really wanted to focus on; the classic and timeless sort of ‘glory days of the past’, if you will, with a touch of understated Victorian elegance. Hence, the vision to create something classically elegant for this shoot was born.
I have always been a fan of Old Hollywood and the way that those elements can bring a high-societal & elegant feel to any event. When I spoke to Andrew at Party Pleasers and we began the design process, he enthusiastically agreed. We decided the theme would have an Old Hollywood Glam feel (without being too “Gatsby”, as this theme was getting quite overdone as well) while incorporating clean modern touches and just a hint of Victorian charm to highlight the beautiful house that is on the property. The “Gatsby” linen from Luxe Linen was an easy choice, and then everything fell into place after that. The glass gold chargers, (obsessed!) were the next grounding piece, and then adding deep jewel tones in the florals to elevate the style with touches of black for a crisp modern pick me up.
