This Elegant Wedding Has An Amazing Escort Card Display
It has to be said that we are absolutely in awe of every real wedding we come across and this darling California wedding from the lens of Shoda Love has been added to that list. It’s full of lovely details (like adorable pets and fun song lyric signage!) and the planning and design cleverness of CCL Weddings & Events, paired with the floral stylings of Art With Nature. What we’re really mesmerized by is the escort card display. It’s so unique and definitely a wedding conversation piece!
From the bride, Kathy: Ideally, we wanted natural surroundings for the backdrop of our wedding venue. Hummingbird Nest Ranch was perfect with the abundant trees on the ranch, the surrounding mountains, and the canyon setting. The overall theme we were aiming for was rustic elegance with modern and personable touches. When asked by our wedding planner what 3 words would describe our ideal wedding, charming, intimate, and super-fun came to mind! As a couple, we wanted to immerse our guests into our combined passion for good eats, dancing, and music.
Our wedding was planned for an all outdoor event with three separate areas for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. About four days prior to the wedding date, the weather forecasted intermittent rain throughout the day and into the evening and we had to unexpectedly move the entire even indoors. People say rain on the big day is good luck and in looking back we indeed felt that it was. Ultimately, our wedding in the barn aligned with our hopes of an intimate, warm, and romantic wedding. It was rustic, but elegant, and even more personable. Our guests were happy and mentioned that the change may have even been better than our original plan.
Favorite details: Our dogs walking down the aisle as dogs of honor and then being able to run around freely throughout the entire reception to get lots of love and attention from all the guests. Escort Installation – a beautiful wooden backdrop created by CCL weddings with escort cards attached to rosemary infused olive oil. The beautiful handmade wooden signage throughout the ceremony/reception with lyrics showing off the groom’s love for music. Pocky station – a variety of our favorite flavors (savory and sweet) arranged in beautiful glass containers for the guests to enjoy throughout the night. Addition of more hanging market lights throughout created the most intimate and romantic feel.
Favorite moments: The first look between bride and groom and the best man and matrons of honor speech. Walking down the aisle with the wedding team holding umbrellas over the bridal party then walking out as a married couple to the magical skies that results when the rain stops. Two couples dance battling it out for the music trivia prize! We were totally surprised by their performances. Seeing every guest get on the dance floor, including those who claim they would never be caught dancing!
