It isn’t often we share engagement sessions, but it also isn’t often we come across ones this incredibly precious. Photographer Danielle Poff (formerly Capito) reached out to Sara and Garrett to use them as models for an upcoming shoot, but Garrett sneakily asked Danielle if he could use the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend of the past 9 years. A portrait session turned surprise proposal turned engagement shoot – who could turn that down?
From the bride-to-be, Sara: Garrett and I have been together for nine short years. It seems like yesterday when we won “Cutest Couple” our senior year of high school. We have grown up together throughout the years; laughing, experiencing and learning about life. He has always supported my dreams and has encouraged me to follow my heart. He is the main reason I began my Fashion Blog and has been my excellent photographer and supportive cheerleader throughout the entire process.
I met Danielle, our photographer for the engagement shoot, through social media. She contacted me that she was looking for models, and asked if she could photograph Garrett and me. She is so talented, and her work is truly breathtaking so I could not turn down the opportunity. Through email, Danielle and I arranged a date to meet in San Luis Obispo. Little did I know, Garrett had tricks up his sleeve and reached out to Danielle asking if he could propose during the photo shoot. The backdrop of the Los Osos Oaks Preserve just outside of San Luis Obispo is truly a fairy tale setting. I was completely shocked and touched when he got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Of course, I said yes! Danielle captured the moment of a lifetime, and we are so thrilled to have these images as we embark on the rest of our life together.
