San Juan Capistrano Wedding
We got another gorgeous Cali wedding to share today! Our favorite part of this wedding has to be how obviously personal it was for the bride and groom. From naming each table after a Beatles song to having the groom, James, hand design the invitations and paper goods, each detail was totally about them and their love for each other — just the way it should always be. With amazing pre-wedding shots at the stunning San Juan Capistrano Mission and more from Katelin Wallace Photography, you might fall for this wedding as much as we have!
From the bride, Michelle: From the moment we got engaged, James and I began dreaming up tons of ideas to incorporate into our wedding day. We knew from the start that we wanted to do as much of the design and decor elements ourselves with the help of our friends and family. Coming from creative backgrounds (I work in product development for a major cosmetics company and James has a design business) it only made sense that we’d work together to make all of our ideas come to life. With the help of my interior designer Mother and furniture designer Father, we collaborated and began planning a day filled with endless DIY projects that reflected our personalities, cultures and styles.
We were certain that we wanted to incorporate a favorite color combination (yellow and grey), our love of the Beatles and all things vintage and my Spanish and Portuguese heritage. Though it was a lot of work, each detail was extra special as there was so much thought and effort put into it. Each project was important to us as it reflected who we are, what we love and our families. Many months of planning, researching and crafting lead to our perfect wedding day. Walking into our wedding we were filled with so much love and joy not only to finally be marrying each other, but to be solidifying our union in a space that was so very us. Our friends and family raved about all the details everywhere they glanced and it made our hearts want to burst knowing that we created our dream wedding together.

The wedding looks amazing on your blog Ruffled!! So happy you took note of all the lovely details and the heart and soul James and Michelle put into designing their wedding with the help of Just Lovely Events. The florals by Art With Nature really tied in all of the details! This was such a fun wedding for me to photograph and I truly enjoyed getting to know James and Michelle and being a part of their big day. Thanks Ruffled!
