Pink, orange, and yellow — has there ever been a better color palette for spring? Some of our favorite hues commingle in today’s styled shoot from Ashley Largesse, Kate Dawson Events, and Valley Flower Company, who wanted to blend vibrant blooms with something new for rustic-inspired brides, switching out the traditional pastel and blush tones for bright colors and an extra pop of energy.

From the event designer, Kate of Kate Dawson Events: Spring has officially sprung! The lush greens and vibrant blooms of this season had us totally inspired! Daydreaming about this shoot began back in February when Ashley, Christa and I were dying for some energizing sunshine and inspiration. I was also on a quest to find ways for the brides we work with to bring their “rustic” visions to life in creative new ways. So, from that, this shoot was born! We worked closely with the folks at Cedar Circle Farm (who offer an awesome pick your own flower package for brides in the area) to not only use some of their seasonal blooms for the boutonnieres and tablescapes, but also to invade their property and take advantage of the colorful greenhouse, beautiful lush fields and majestic views.

We set up the dining table in the middle of a lush, uncut hillside. Using crisp white linens, wood chargers, bamboo chairs and shiny white votives – the look started off clean and simple. And then by adding individual flowers to bud vases scattered across the table, bright geometric napkins, fresh picked radishes and seed packets, the table was transformed! I love that by upgrading a few basic elements (napkins, chairs, glass vases) and playing with some things that you most likely have easy – and free! – access to (wildflowers, seed packets, fruits and vegetables) you can create something unexpected and beautiful.

The same concept was true of our beautiful model. Her look started with the most classic strapless tulle wedding dress. With a loose, side swept updo (that she did herself) and a killer pink pout thanks to Jennifer Perellie Makeup she looked relaxed, elegant and FUN all at the same time. Her look was completed with some layered jewels by Starling (if you don’t know about this awesome new company yet, you must learn now!) and a ridiculously fabulous bouquet of lilacs, peonies and ranunculus tied with hand dyed silk ribbons by the always fabulous Morgan at Valley Flower Company. PS – The bouquet smelled as heavenly as it looked!
