Ultra Romantic Maui Wedding in Blush & Dusty Blue Hues
Like a warm ocean breeze, this romantic tropical wedding on the beaches of Maui, with hues of blush and dusty blue, is warming us up on this winter day! With the help of their planner, VOWS Wedding & Event Planning Sophia & Mo planned a breathtaking al fresco soirée complete with hanging crystal chandeliers and and long farm wood tables under a canopy of flowy drapery. We cannot help but ooh and ahh over every dreamy photo from Angie Diaz Photography that captures all the beauty Maui has to offer.
From the couple: My wife and I travel a lot, and we always knew I would have a destination wedding. We decided to get married on Maui because it was the first place we visited that we felt really spoke to our spirits; the first place that ever truly felt like home in the world.
When we saw Olowalu Plantation we knew it was the perfect place for us because of its breathtaking views and elegant estate. When we conceptualized our wedding day with our amazing planner from VOWS Katy Roberts, we discussed the importance of combining what was important to us with timeless elegance; we wanted to be able to look back on photos 20 years from now and still love the aesthetic.
We decided to go with the blush, sky blue and gold as our color scheme because we wanted colors that reflected those gorgeous, romantic and unforgettable Maui sunsets. This was tricky because we didn’t want our tablescape or decor to look like a baby shower! We felt like all of the touches: the flowers, the chandeliers, the tablescape…came out romantic and elegant, and definitely communicated a wedding! We chose Angie Diaz as our photographer because of her special capability of conveying romance and authentic emotion of the couple while also portraying the beauty of Maui’s landscape in her photos, which is what we felt our wedding was all about. We were thrilled with how everything came together and know we will look back on the photos of our wedding day and be able to relive the magic every time.
From the planner, VOWS Wedding & Event Planning: The couple met 7 years prior to their wedding day while volunteering for the LA Pride Parade in West Hollywood. They decided to get married at Olowalu Plantation House in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii; a private, oceanfront Hawaiian Plantation style home and property with grand Banyan Trees and lush landscape. They wanted to feel loved and special, but not put on display. More importantly, they wanted their guests to feel accepted and comfortable as well as have a blast!
During their interview Sophia said she wanted them to look like Ellen and Portia on their wedding day. A Romantic dress for her, and clean and tailored white suit for Mo. They more than surpassed the beauty and elegance of a star couple!
Sophia had LOTS of ideas and pins on Pinterest, so we had to narrow those down to the exact romantic and classic vision she had in her head. Dusty blue, blush, and many neutral tones were the focus including grand dining canopies, farm wood tables, glittering charger plates and chandeliers. She loved peonies, ranunculus; pretty much all the round romantic flowers. Wispy greenery gave it all a whimsical look which blew beautifully in the ocean breezes.
With all the romantic details in blush and dusty blue, this Maui wedding has us wishing for warmer days. If you’re looking for more tropical inspiration then you HAVE to see this wedding design in Maui.
