Romantic Iowa Wedding

Never in our lives have we seen so many different styles of flowers in one wedding, and we are ALL about it. Today’s wedding from Logan Clement, Bride Meets Wedding, Shelly Sarver Designs, and Hand Pickd (Just For You) is full of inspired floral design, tons of beautiful rentals, and a wedding dress covered in tiny flower accents.

From the wedding planner, Aubrey Secrest of Bride Meets Wedding: When you look at Gabrielle and Andrew you can see not only the love they have for each other, but the amount of love that they have for their family and friends. These two thrive on spending time with their families, and really focused on not making the wedding day just about themselves and their new journey as husband and wife, but as a celebration of their family and friends.

Gabrielle’s sister and brother-in-law graciously opened up their Iowa home for the wedding day; hosting guests from the East to West Coast and everywhere in-between. Iowa holds a special place for Gabrielle’s family; offering serene views and quality time together away from the busy city, so it was an obvious choice when it came to choosing it as the wedding location. The celebration took place on a warm, humid summer day and featured a natural palette of muted tones. Steering away from having a typical “wedding color”, Gabrielle wanted to enhance the natural beauty of the property by incorporating tons of fresh foliage and pops of bright blooms. The couple wanted to incorporate as many local and natural elements as possible throughout the day. To add in a midwestern rustic feel, hundreds of fresh sunflowers grown on the property were used for the outdoor cocktail hour festivities. During cocktails, guests were greeted with fresh lemonade and specialty fig cocktails, a gourmet cheese station and raw bar, and enjoyed lawn games overlooking Eastern Iowa’s rolling hills.

Throughout the planning family was always right there to help make Gabrielle and Andrew’s wedding extra special. The bride’s brother and sister-in-law created a special father/daughter tribute dance honoring her father that featured a moment with all the special men that had come into her life and who would always be there by her side. Showing Gabrielle’s father’s presence throughout the day was very important to her, so Inside Decor built a beautiful custom canopy that featured her father’s favorite quote, “Love is the most powerful force in the universe.” The couple shared intimate photos under the display during their cocktail hour. After enjoying a sit-down meal, guests enjoyed dancing to live music in the reception barn and taking in the outside views. A private fireworks show put on by friends served as a surprise at the end of the night for the newlyweds.
