As an avid lover of English literature, this next shoot is utterly irresistible for me. A talented team including Ilene Squires Photography, Party Task Force, and Valerie Jurado put together a wedding session inspired by Penguin paperback books, adding a bit of neon flair and modern wedding ideas to round everything out. What better time for a vintage book page backdrop?
From the event designer, Andrea of Party Task Force: Our styled shoot was inspired by the iconic Penguin paperback books. Based on the polychromatic Penguin books, I chose a color palette of bright jewel tones including orange, emerald green, and dark blue. And the graphic, triple-banded covers of the books inspired everything from the invitations, to the color-blocked bridesmaids’ dresses, to the inside and outside of the cake! The bright pops of orange in the chargers and napkins, and the beautiful liquor decanters in emerald green, dark topaz, and amber which lined the table along with stacks of colorful Penguin books brought in even more color. Plus, the napkins and place cards were designed to look like Penguin book covers underneath each guest’s glass plate, and the brass penguins, candlesticks, and cameras infused the table with some vintage soul.
