If you’re a fan of patterns, rainbows and midnight tater tots, then this colorful Palm Springs wedding is for you. The initial hook for us was the tasteful color palette of bright everything. But the element that tied it all together? FUN. I mean how cute is their puppy-clad custom crest, vibrant ombre balloon display and #AllYouNeedisLee incorporated everywhere? Christina Karst is blowing us away with these happy pics. So settle in and prepare to smile.
From the stylist, Kristen of KLM Event Design: Julie and Zach’s wedding was at The Parker hotel in Palm Springs, CA. Both from Jacksonville, FL, the couple knew they wanted their wedding to be unique and an experience their guests would never forget. The venue options were endless across the country, but the Parker easily stood out with it’s fresh, Jonathan Adler design and colorful setting. It didn’t hurt that it was in sunny, beautiful Palm Springs!
From her daily fashion sense to her upbeat personality, Julie, was truly a special client and I knew from day-1 this would be one of the most stylish, fun weddings of my career as a planner. Anyone that knows Julie, knows she absolutely loves color and wanted to incorporate this into her special day. The Parker is full of color, so we had to carefully select a complimentary palette. Julie and Zach live at the beach in Jacksonville, FL and have always enjoyed watching the sunset as a date. This has always been a special activity for them and they now take their one-year old daughter to do the same. Sunset tones not only had a personalized touch, the colors came together naturally at the Parker and were carried throughout the entire wedding.
Every detail of the event was purposeful and personalized down to the ice cream sandwich wrappers and pizza slice boxes. Guests were welcomed at their hotels with custom bags filled with the bride and groom’s favorite items including custom golf tees (Groom works for the PGA Tour and played golf in college), their favorite snacks, Candlefish Candles hand selected by the bride, custom matches, M&Ms with their sweet Boston terrier, Twiggs, on them, and custom paper detailing the entire weekend.
Julie always wanted an outdoor wedding, but the heat of Palm Springs wouldn’t work for even FL guests, so we had our work cut out for us to bring the outdoors in. The Parker has stunning hedges throughout the property that we recreated in the ballroom giving the feel of being outside. The hedges also worked as a separation wall between the dinner and the party area which gave the guests a feeling of surprise and that they were in different venues throughout the night. The ceremony was outdoors and, although brief due to the heat, was simple and classic with white cafe umbrellas and brown cafe chairs surrounded by greenery and colorful florals.
The colors were tastefully included. The bridesmaids each selected their own dress of the color palette, some a tad darker to bring life to the pastel spread. The groomsmen wore simple dark navy suits. The cocktail reception linens all fell in line with pinks, marigolds, and salmon colors and guests enjoyed dinner at long tables dressed with sunset ombre flowers down the center of each. Glassware in similar tones and gold flatware brought the colors together creating a beautiful, warm dinner setting.
After dinner, guests enjoyed a 10-piece band followed by a DJ as they danced on the classic black and white dance floor. Multiple lounge set-ups included a gentleman’s lounge with darker colors and a dark wood stained bar filled with the whiskey or bourbon of their choice and a ladies lounge created with blush tones, velvet touches, and the prettiest crystal cut glassware filled with Rose. Other lounge set-ups surrounded the dance floor and brought the sunset tones full circle with bright colored pillows and upholstered furniture.
One unique installation was around/behind the dessert display. Julie and Zach love dessert, so we knew we had to make this special. A colorful balloon installation in front of live hedges decorated the dessert display and ice cream cart area and was the perfect stand-out piece for the reception. The girls at Wild Child Party really brought this vision to life and they even covered the ceilings in both bathrooms with balloons which all of the guests enjoyed! The fun and lively personalities of Julie and Zach came through in every detail of their wedding weekend and The Parker was the perfect venue to bring the bride’s colorful dream to life. #ALLYOUNEEDISLEE
