Outdoor Lake Tahoe Wedding
I truthfully don’t even know where to begin with this wedding — the bouquets? The bride’s Sarah Seven gown? The absolutely breathtaking scenery? Every bit of it is just incredible. Newlyweds Amanda and Mike called upon Cindy and Daniel of Orange Turtle Photography to capture their wedding in the mountains of California at a venue so secluded it isn’t even on a named road! How much do you adore the flowers from Natural Flair?
From the bride, Amanda: I had a lot of inspiration but I really let the venue inspire me the most. There were a ton of vintage details every where around The Hideout — the owners are collectors. Tahoe is kind of whimsical too, full of beautiful flowers, butterflies and amazing starry nights. It’s very enchanting.
There wasn’t a theme other than fun! We really wanted to make sure our guests were very well fed and we really wanted them to enjoy the venue. I had a REALLY hard time deciding on colors and eventually I narrowed it down to fuchsia, navy and cream. The men all wore navy and my bridesmaids wore cream and the flowers were a mix of all those colors.
I did all the feature table signs and table numbers on the computer, I made all the succulent centerpieces, the flower girls head bands were made by my soon to be sister in law, the biggest DIY was the programs and invitations that were created by our friends Bailey and Spencer. I gathered a lot of decor and had ideas and thoughts on how I wanted things but I have to give my wedding planner Kate Miller the kudos for putting it all together.. I was amazed when I saw it, she did an amazing job!
Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? It’s all about your vendors, pick vendors you love, we picked the most remote place to get married because we were in love with the owners they are like family to us now. I made my photographers travel all the way from San Diego because every time I looked at their work it made me happy! Also trust your vendors make a decision and let go; don’t second guess yourself. They know what they are doing — they are professionals. I am also someone who hates accepting help but I could not have done it with out my amazing family and friends they helped a ton!

Wow – what a truly magical setting! I love the way the bright flowers pop against the otherwise neutral colors…just gorgeous!
I love the scenery, the map, the dresses, the treat bags… it’s all so pretty!
Oh my goodness!
Those invitations, that dess, those flowers and desserts!
Everything. Every thing.
Absolutely perfect. 😀
I’m so excited to see this wedding featured…my company (www.storehouserentals.com) provided quite a few vintage treasures to the decor and it’s great fun to see how Amanda used them!
love sarah seven gowns…this one looks absolutely gorgeous on the bride.
This wedding is simply stunning!! Love it!
So on trend with the colors in this super cute vintage-inspired wedding. The bright bouquets and pink and blue color in the fonts, combined with the illustrated paper suite is such a hot look right now. I adore the inspired use of the almost industrial feel of the doughnut stand against the more traditional mason jars..a fresh approach to vintage. Bec xx
I love the vintage feel to this wedding, simply stunning 🙂

Absolutely beautiful wedding! Love the seating area, what a great touch.
This whole wedding is GORGEOUS.
Thank you for featuring this wedding! It’s seriously one of our fav that we’ve shot this year! We love Amanda and Mike – they are such an adorable, easy going couple! We are so blessed to be their photographers.
Daniel & Cindy – you rocked this wedding. LOVE the portraits on the lake. Just epic!!!
I LOVE the mini bottles of champagne, where on earth did you find them?
Looks amazing!!! QUestion – it looks like this property is a bit aways from Lake Tahoe itself… any difficulty finding lodging for the guest?
@Salvatore this is a very late reply but there are accommodations for guests at Kirkwood Lodge not too far from the Hideout. It is a bit of a trek but well worth it. We arranged shuttles through the owners to make sure guests got in and out easily and safely.
Hi there! I just viewed this venue a couple weeks ago as a possiblility for our wedding next year. I just wanted to get some insight from the bride, Amanda, on any pointers she might have. Thanks!
Anyone know where this is located? A private residence perhaps? So beautiful, just what we’ve been searching for!
