Ontario Flower Child Wedding

Never in my years as a wedding blogger have I seen a wedding that so effortlessly blends bohemian style with pure elegance. Alex and Josh had a day full of design and decor inspired by Alex’s own Jenny Packham gown, and what better inspiration could there be? Mango Studios took control behind the camera, and Rhiannon of Hey Gorgeous Events is here to tell us all about the big day:

From the event stylist, Rhiannon of Hey Gorgeous Events: Alex and Josh are one of those couples who just radiate love from every pore in their bodies. The way they speak to one another and look at each other really allows to you to feel appreciative for even being witness to their true love. When the couple hired me to help partially plan their event and bring together a cohesive design, I knew it would be easy to create a look together with Alex and Josh that would be reflective of both their chic yet effortless style and very sweet romance. Alex’s Jenny Packham gown was a big source of inspiration behind the florals, textures and decor we went with. It’s a very textural gown with a soft and ethereal flow to it and we wanted the wedding decor to match. We also used the backdrop of their gorgeous church and reception venue, Liuna Gardens to steer our choices so that the atmosphere of the event would be stylish but scaled back to let the couples love take center stage that day. A color palette of dark greens with a touch of black and gold, were juxtaposed with soft peaches, blushes and ivories. We used a lot of textures with the linens, colors variance with the centerpieces and had over 125 pillar candles placed around the venue for a romantic vibe.

I also have to note that this event was one of those weddings were you really had to be there to ‘feel’ how special it all was. It was beautiful no doubt, but there were so many special moments throughout the day that had to be felt; the moment the church doors opened and Josh and his best man, his Dad, looked on to see Alex and her dad walking down the aisle arm in arm, the moment the couple took to the dance floor for their first dance, only to serenade one another like no one was watching, the surprise sparkler send off with all of the guests being led out to the lake only to lead into a spectacular fireworks show; it was all so wonderful and what a wedding should be. It was an honor to see it come together as it did.

  • This was such an amazing event to be a part of; I can’t say enough about how incredible the bride and groom are and how big of a pleasure it was working with them in planning suhc a special celebration. Thank you for the feature, Ruffled 🙂

  • Beautiful photos of a nice wedding. This couple nailed it. As always, it’s about balance. The only thing that surprises me is that they didn’t opt for an outdoor wedding. Nice photographic memories!

  • What a beautiful couple. Amazing wedding and an inspirational speech that sets the tone for the entire video. Very unique. You are lucky to have one another. Wish you many many years of happiness! Thank you for sharing
