Nature Inspired Autumn Wedding
I’m absolutely beside myself to share with you this styled wedding I recently cooked up. I wanted to create a shoot that focused on the more romantic side of autumn, with decayed walls and intricate textiles thrown in for some added visual interest. Jenna Trapasso Thomas of Red, White & Green Photography and McKinna Hahn of House of Ceremony jumped on board to round out my vision, and the sixth floor of Piedmont Renaissance Center was the ideal spot for a shoot.
My main inspiration point was textiles, with some metallic and deep amethyst thrown in. I love the pizazz that gold brings, but I wanted to focus more on gold’s warmer sister, copper, to give things a fresher look. I knew I wanted the tablescape to be full of natural elements, so I used greenery with some lesser-used flowers and petite pumpkins to create the base. Most challenging was the ceremony backdrop, which took quite a few late nights watching The Cosby Show, gluing down rolled yarn, and making dip-dyed tassels. In the end, it turned out to be my favorite piece.
The shoot wouldn’t be complete without the incredible Lulu gown from BHLDN. It was the perfect amount of glamor to escalate the feel of the shoot, and the headpiece + bouquet made by McKinna of House of Ceremony (who doubled as our model) brought it to the next level. We were even able to use one of her vintage gowns for some added romance! Jamie of Julia’s Poppies Design took care of the invitation suite, which was the ideal match for the shoot aesthetic and dark romantic vibe. Everyone brought their A game to the table for a shoot that was completed in record time, and I’m forever indebted to them.

Soo many things I love from the shoot but I think the one thing that caught my eye was the use of orange! I would’ve never thought to add orange to a purple and gold tablescape. It’s such a genius idea because it fits SO perfectly! Love it!
I love this! It’s very original, intimate, and sweet……
