Modern Romantic Holiday Shoot

We absolutely can’t believe how close Christmas is, and we’re so happy to be sharing some of our favorite holiday inspiration shoots as we get ready! Today’s shoot is sent over by Alyssa & Michelle from Cotton Weddings, Weddings by Jessee, and F Dellit Designs, who put together a shoot that’s totally modern and romantic at the same time. Deep reds, rich gold, and a touch of grey against fresh white make everything pop and make us oh-so-ready for cozy celebrations.

From the photographers, Alyssa & Michelle from Cotton Weddings: The classically elegant white interior and dramatic wooden cathedral doors of The Citadel on Kirby gave us a stunning backdrop for this styled shoot. We were inspired to design details for the modern, romantic bride who loves a touch of drama. The deep red, gold, and white color story was intended to inspire the Holiday bride without looking like a traditional Holiday wedding. Gold leafing details were incorporated throughout and are seen in the invitation suite, the dessert table, and, to top it off, the bride’s side swept romantic braid.

A Fine Flourish designed an invitation suite that felt both modern and organic; with accents of gold on soft hemp paper and grey envelopes. The stunning deep red florals by F. Dellit Designs really accentuated the design of the table scape and allowed the entire table to pop against the white walls of the citadel. Mercury glass vases and pedestals held the florals while the gold flatware paired with crystal glassware really made an elegant statement. The entire dessert table had a light, modern feel with marbling and gold leaf details on the cake, chocolate gems, and macaroons.

The simplicity of the bridesmaids holding a single deep red peony as their alternate to a bouquet supported the minimalistic elegance of their ivory dresses while allowing the bride and her dramatic bouquet to shine. From the bride’s soft gown, romantic hair, and bold red lips to the drama of the florals and romantic candlelit images of the bride and groom, the styling came together seamlessly. I adored every moment of working with Michelle and Alyssa of Michelle Able Photography, who captured every angle of the designs just as we envisioned them.
