Modern Ames Hotel Wedding
This Boston wedding shot by Rebecca Hansen Weddings is the perfect expression of intimate uptown chic. Shell and Ashley married with only their closest friends and family nearby in the hotel suite, then traveled downstairs for a gourmet wedding reception catered by Woodward at Ames Hotel. We love that they combined their last names into a new one for both. Also…we may or may not still be swooning over Shell’s vintage-inspired Vera Wang gown!
From the photographer, Rebecca: Ashley and Shell are two of the happiest people I’ve ever seen get married. Ever. It was amazing to be part of their wedding day. They were married in a very intimate ceremony at the Ames Hotel in Boston. The ceremony was held in the apartment suite of the hotel where they were (literally) surrounded by their friends and family. The room had these huge windows that overlooked the city, it was a beautiful backdrop to the ceremony. Cocktail hour and dinner were held in the Ames’ restaurant the Woodward. Guests were served family style. The day overall had a very relaxed, intimate feeling. The walls of the restaurant are so neat because they’re filled with tons of oddities and interesting trinkets the hotel has collected, like a JFK bust. One thing that Ashley and Shell did that I thought was SO cool, is that they both changed their last name, and morphed both of their old last names into one new one.
