From the photographer, Anne Rhett Photography: This venue, Boone Hall Plantation, in Charleston, South Carolina, where Blake Lively once wed Ryan Reynolds, is truly stunning! The long drive in is lined by an avenue of mossy oaks and horse pastures that open up to reveal the property’s gorgeous original home on the marsh surrounded by manicured gardens. To honor this grand Southern setting, Richard and Aubrie, both native Charlestonians, wanted to incorporate local Lowcountry elements without being too cliche or sugary sweet.

They enlisted the help of Reagan Barnes to bring their vision to life. Reagan helped them keep the decor elegant and bridal while also grounded in more masculine natural elements. The classic blue-and-white china and lush pink peonies on the tables found balance in the heavy brass touches and the wooden-handled game knives at the place settings. The entrance to the Boone Hall Cotton Dock was draped dramatically in a rich beige suede, which tempered the bright pink floral arrangements.

The handwritten calligraphy on place settings was formal and old-school, while the place cards were perched in a display made of Black Eyed Peas–a clever and stylish nod to South Carolinian crops and cuisine. The lounge upholstery featured both muted pink velvets and well as deep brown leathers with faux animal-hide surrounded by urban edison bulb lamps, creating the ambiance of a chic Lowcountry hunting lodge.

There were also adorable personal touches: each bridesmaid had a monogrammed shawl to combat the chilly dock air, and the bar napkins and coat check tags both featured an illustration of the couple’s pups!

They were married on the dock overlooking the marsh, and guests then dined under the most gorgeous dangling greenery ceiling while listening to the mellow sounds of The Lowhills, who performed in front of a custom geometric art installation. After a gorgeous sunset, the party continued on the dock and in front of the roaring fire where guests had milk, cookies, and S’mores! The couple departed in a handsome forest green antique car.
