Kent Barn Wedding Ideas
Wedding Design
I think I might just have found a new favorite wedding venue. The blank canvas of Pale and Interesting – The Venue is absolutely breathtaking in its simplicity — a true blank slate waiting to be painted. Hannah Gooch did a fantastic job of pulling together all-star vendors — including the endlessly-talented photographer Sarah Gawler — to create their dreamy vision. The muted, but crisp color palette combined with vintage elements is a foolproof recipe for a gorgeous wedding. Whatever you do, don’t miss the gallery!
From the designer, Hannah: Pale and Interesting – The Venue, a New England-style barn in the beautiful Kent countryside, was the setting for The Ebury Collection’s first shoot. Only 10 minutes from the beach, this beautiful private home is owned by stylist Atlanta Bartlet and husband Dave Coote. For those of you looking to for a stylish blank canvas as your wedding venue, you really can’t get much better than this.
The lovely Sarah Gawler and I got our heads together back in March and had a great time selecting gowns from Blackburn Bridal Couture for our three bridal looks. The first is a soft, boho style with a fabulous Claire Pettibone gown. I love Bethany’s lose plait and her floral headband. Lindsay from LK Lily created a loose and rustic bouquet featuring roses, sweet pea and trailing jasmine and used the same flowers to create her floral headdress.
Sarah Treble’s unique and elegant gown needs little more than a few peonies in the hair as the feathers are really the feature of this look. Accessorizing with a beautiful tight bunch of white peonies works perfectly. And finally, a simple gold jewelled headband and a little bunch of Lily of the Valley perfectly compliments Clinton Lotter’s breathtaking feather gown, with its gold belt.
We used a simple linen tablecloth with lots of glass candlesticks, votives and tealight holders to create the table setting. A large vase of white and green flowers coordinate perfectly with the pale grey pie-crust plates and the gorgeous ceramic pears and zinc place name tags.
