Love eco-friendly weddings, probably just as much as I love vintage weddings! Their 60’s psychedelic styled invitations and vinyl record save-the-date “cards” (!) set the tone for Katie and Josh’s modern chic affair. Katie’s dress is one of my favorite wedding gowns ever…it’s the Scarlet by Monique Lhuillier. Shot by the talented Annie McElwain.

Katie’s advice to those who planning their weddings:

My first piece of advice for new brides would be to figure out what you and your future husband love and marry those idea’s. My greatest achievement with planning our wedding was that I was able to incorporate my loves, his loves, and our loves.

Secondly, when looking for a dress try to only bring one other person that knows you well or go alone. The dress you wear should be the dress you pick and love, not what other people say looks best. After you’ve decided on one, then bring whomever you’d like to see it. Of course everyone is different, but that’s what worked best for me and ultimately with friends of mine that were recently married.

Thirdly, try to have fun! Wedding planning doesn’t need to be stressful, just ask for help where you need it. And lastly, trust your instincts. You know you and your fiance best. My wedding was also 80% Eco Friendly. If you are looking to have a “green” wedding, it can be done without compromising your style.

I am IN LOVE with the centerpieces, the colours, and the SHOES!!! OMG the SHOES!!!

  • Katie

Hello! Regarding our table set up, we had 4 long tables that sat 24 people each on either side of the walls, and tables with seating for 8 people, which there were 6 of, in the middle of the 4 long tables. It made it really easy to see everyone in the room and gave it a family style look. I really didn’t want it to look like a restaurant.
My shoes!!! I know… I got them at Barney’s New York in Beverly Hills.
If you’re shoe crazy like I am and want a really fancy shoe for your wedding, and don’t want to spend an outrageous amount of money, look for designer shoes on They have a really great selection.
    Keep the questions coming ladies!
