Instead of choosing for either a traditional wedding or eloping, Bethany and Chase opted for a little bit of both. They invited their close friends and family to witness their ceremony, with friend Mariel Hannah capturing the day, and flew to Laguna Beach for a mini destination wedding.
From the bride, Bethany: Matt and I are both beach people. We love the beach. Matt grew up Five minutes from the beach his whole life. From surfing to spear fishing he just cant get enough of the ocean. I myself grew up away from the beach, however my heart has always been at the ocean. When we were deciding where we wanted to get married it wasn’t really a hard question to answer. It was the beach. The only thing we needed to figure out was which beach in specific. So Matt and I looked for secluded beaches that reminded him of his years in Hawaii. As we searched, we wanted to find a place where we could do it ourselves, for free and that’s when I found Thousands Steps in Laguna Beach. It was perfect. So we planned a day trip to go scope it out. Immediately when Matt and I walked down the steep steps and then onto the sand we both realized this was it.
From the photographer, Mariel Hannah: A beautiful intimate wedding on the shores of Laguna Beach.. with only their closest family and friends Bethany and Matt said their I do’s with the crashing waves and ocean breeze, a perfect destination for this beautiful couple. Bethany has been a close friend of mine for many many years. It is such an honor to capture this very special day, a day we used to day dream about together.
