Copper is a metal that has been making waves lately in the wedding industry and it’s no surprise. Whether you have an understated color palette and you’re looking for some unique glimmer, or you have an array of colors and you’re looking for that special something to round it off, copper is your best bet. In their collaboration, Shelley Elena Photography and Karis Crawford drew inspiration from natural elements and thought that the deep, moody indigo would pair so nicely with copper’s vibrance. Of course, they were right! It seems to be a feat to create floral pieces that stand out when you have two colors vying for the spotlight. Remi + Gold definitely came through with this creation and what I love the most about it are the delightfully golden ranunculus blooms and those scarlet garden roses. Just beautiful!
From the photographer, Shelley Elena Photography: Karis Crawford and I dreamed up a shoot that would combine our love of modern and organic elements with the vibrant colors we love. Austin is filled with incredibly talented artists, making it easy to pull together a team that executed our vision beautifully. We loved the cohesion of indigo and saffron with wood and copper, and felt that it represented a unique combination of colors and textures that would stand out in a wedding world of pastels. We both find inspiration in natural elements, but wanted to bring those indoors to a more modern setting. One Eleven East, just outside of Austin, just opened and is the perfect minimalist backdrop to any artist’s vision. Our couple, Katie & Mike, got married in Yosemite and are majorly in love, even re-sharing their sweet vows with each other while we shot, making the entire team a little misty eyed.
