Green Building Brooklyn Wedding
Every time I look at this wedding, I just can’t get over how darling the bride is! Katie Osgood captured the wedding of Stephanie and Ben at Brooklyn’s Green Building, one of our all-time favorite venues. There are many wonderful details to behold, but prepare yourself for Steph’s jaw-dropping bouquet from Sprout Home.
From the bride, Stephanie: We knew we wanted our wedding to be warm, inviting, and echo our home decor. My husband had said, “We wanted a wedding that looked like a big beautiful dinner party that we would host at our house if we had the space.” Which is why the Green Building was perfect for us. As soon as we walked in, we knew that was where we wanted to marry one another. Its beautiful white washed brick walls, and ornate chandeliers create the perfect setting for our intimate wedding. It really means something to us that when we walked in we could picture the whole evening start to finish. And as an added element to our idea of our wedding wanting to feel like our home, the Green Building is 2 blocks away from our home!
We knew we wanted our wedding to be romantic, warm, cool, fun, and filled with personal touches. While we didn’t really have a theme, our decor really did reflect our home life and design sensibilities. Our house is filled with candles, geodes, old bottles filled with flowers, and richly colored geometric rugs. We wanted all those design elements present in the details of our wedding. My amazing Mom made the silver triangle garland on her sewing machine that would be used to decorate mine and my husbands chairs. We found beautiful geodes, bottles, and candles on eBay, educational supplies, and other fun sites! Our cool geometric wedding programs and menus were created by my Maid of Honor, Jennifer Katz, a super talented graphic designer and awesome gal pal. We also wanted to try to use the most local Brooklyn vendors as we could. Music is also very important to us, especially my husband. So he worked with our amazing DJ to make sure all the songs we wanted were played and none of the ones we didn’t want weren’t!
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Take it all in stride and have fun!!!
