Vintage Romantic Wedding at the Metropolitan Building

Lovers of vintage glam romance, this one’s for you. Lev Kuperman captured Foster and Marc’s incredible wedding day at Long Island City’s Metropolitan Building, a long-time favorite venue for those who appreciate a bit of Old World charm. Throw in some retro inspired paper goods, a show-stopping Jenny Packham gown, and one heck of a dance party and you’ve got this memorable celebration!

From the bride, Foster: Our style was vintage and romantic. We wanted the night to feel enchanted and magical yet warm and comfortable. We steered away from the “rustic” elements such as mason jars because they tend to err on the side of “cute.” We sourced and collected all of the brass candle stick holders and medicine/apothecary flower vases to include table centerpieces and design elements throughout the space. My sister, who is an amazing graphic designer, designed the dinner menus and some of the signage (signature cocktail and welcome sign).

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Try not to let the little details become bigger than they are. Sometimes we found ourselves focusing too much on the minute details (and to be honest, no one even notices the little things). You can let these things go without sacrificing your overall vision. On the day, the outcome of some elements may not be exactly what you expected but it will all be beautiful and magical. Basically, don’t sweat the small stuff.
