Riverdale Manor Wedding

Seeing a wedding from Lauren Fair Photography is always a treat, and we get even more excited when we see the talented Belovely Floral + Event Design on board! Crystal and Nick wanted a wedding that was a bit rustic, a bit elegant, and a bit whimsical. With the touches of glitter, chalkboard, and bright pops of coral, we’d say they certainly achieved their vision!

From the bride, Crystal: We wanted a warm, welcoming, fun atmosphere for our friends and family to enjoy. The style and feel that we envisioned was rustic refined with some fun whimsical details — rustic elegance down by the river. The theme for our day was “let love grow” – Nick and I added water and soil to a unity plant and had given our guest little glass vials of passion flower seeds as favors. We also played off of the day that we met, Thanksgiving day, by placing breakable wishbones on the guest chairs. We asked them to break them and make a wish after we said I do. We had a little quote that read: The day we met was our lucky day. Today might be yours. Please break and make a wish after the bride and groom say I do.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Take time to enjoy the day. every married couple that we spoke to leading up to the wedding told us that the day would fly by, but we didn’t realize how FAST it would fly. I made a point to sneak away at one point to walk around and look at all of the details – to try to take it all in and just enjoy it. We put so much heart into planning this one single day, that I wanted to really appreciate all of the love and hard work that went into planning it. Another thing that I would recommend is for the bride/maids to give yourself plenty of time in the morning to get ready. Plan for the hair and make up first thing in the morning, don’t put it off until mid morning. I hate to feel rushed with anything I do. The morning flew by for us and we were rushing off to the venue to finish getting ready and start prepping for first look photos. I felt a bit frazzled right before Nick and I met each other for the first look. However, the minute I saw him, all of the angst quickly disappeared. Which brings me to another bit of advice, first look photos are so amazing. It gave me such a sense of calm and peace to be able to see him and speak to him before the ceremony. some people want the raw emotion from the first look during ceremony, which you still get but it helped us get through our vows without being a big ball of tears and nerves the whole time. It also gave us the opportunity to take some amazing portraits before our ceremony and in turn gave us time after the ceremony to enjoy our cocktail hour and mingle with friends and family.

  • Riverdale Manor is one of the most elegant and amazing venues in the south central PA area. Our area is blessed to have so many venues that embrace nature, but this one really does it well, as you can see from the photos.
