Park Winters Garden Wedding

Grab some tissues, cause this one is a stunner! Equal parts whimsical and sweet, this real wedding between the Winnie and Jose has us smiling from ear to ear. Posies in pink garnish an impressive twig arbor and bouquets of peonies, roses, hydrangeas and hypericum berries abound, thanks to the handiwork of Botanica Lifestyle + Design. Marin Kristine demonstrates a tremendous eye for detail as she gives each DIY element a bit of permanence in her dreamy photographs. Just look at those tea leaf favors with personalized calligraphy from the bride herself! Leave it up to Tan Weddings & Events to coordinate such a marvelous celebration.

From the bride, Winnie: Our wedding vision was romantic with a touch of vintage. We also included a traditional tea ceremony before the western ceremony. The tea ceremony was important for us because it was a way to show respect to our parents and older family members. We invited family and very close friends only. I wanted to keep it small and intimate and I wanted all guests to enjoy every single moment of the night.

Our color scheme was white, blush, peach, pop of hot pink and green. Our welcome sign was DIY — I saw it on Pinterest and I was initially searching on Etsy to see if I could find one… I also talked to calligraphers but they would not provide the frame. I decided to go to Treasure Island Flea market and see if I can pick up some old frames. I was very lucky that SOMEHOW I spotted this frame with glass already and IT WAS ON SALE. I got it for $100. I then picked a font that I like on dafont.com, printed them out and painted on the glass using acrylic paint. I was really happy with the outcome. The favors were also DIY. We had a lot of guests who traveled from overseas so we gave them flower tea leaves in test tubes. For local guests, we came them succulents and I hand wrote each of their names on the little tags!

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? 1) Pick your dress ahead of time, especially if you are petite like me because you may need special order and extra month for alternation. I said yes to the dress in November and it did not arrive until May. 2) Pick the photographer and makeup artist you like the most. It’s worth it! 3) I was lucky enough that my husband participated a lot in the entire planning process. Planning a wedding is definitely very stressful and time-consuming so I think it is very important that both are involved. 4) If budget is an issue, think about what the priorities are.
