A Vintage Inspired Love Shoot

Where oh where to begin with this romantic styled shoot from Vintage Wedding Love by Greenbrook & Co. and Nina & Wes Photography? All of the lovely little details are as beautiful as the backstory submitted by the stylist, Josephine, who also serves as the model in the shoot alongside her dear husband. Let’s jump on in and take a peek!

From the event designers, Vintage Wedding Love by Greenbrook & Co.: This love shoot was a much needed breath of fresh air for us and it brought us back to where it all started… Specializing in destination weddings and elopements in Europe, we get to travel to gorgeous places to create and capture beauty, and we love love LOVE what we do! Rarely do we get to travel for ourselves, so when we heard Nina & Wes Photography would be passing through Scandinavia this past summer we knew we had to meet up with them there and take a trip down memory lane, and this time, we got to be the stars of our own creation 😀 I got to see my charming Swedish groom in his dashing vintage suit, he got to see me in my gorgeous lace gown, and together we got to relive and re-love the little details, sparks and emotions of our big day. We got to feel those butterflies again as we walked down to the water where he asked me to marry him and I was so ecstatic I almost forgot to say “yes”, and then up the hill to our favorite little chapel on the Swedish west coast where my hubby is from.

Working with brides from all over the world, we have the privilege of helping make their wildest dreams come true. We get to be a part of the beginning of their adventure and get to dream along with them as their big day approaches. Planning a wedding is a dream. Marrying the one you love is a dream. When the long awaited wedding day arrives, we feel like our dream finally comes true… And it really does come true. You get to be his Mrs. and he gets to be your man forever. It’s the best feeling ever! We had our dream wedding. Beyond all dreams really… We eloped just the two of us in Scandinavia and then celebrated our wedding later that year with family and friends on the French Riviera.

We sailed through it all with sparkles in our eyes… and bliss begets bliss… a few months after the honeymoon butterflies were settling down, we were so delighted to find out we were expecting our baby girl. Then, sometimes, once “real life” starts, things aren’t as you imagined. We didn’t anticipate how hard the next few years would be. How hard loss would be. How hard it would be to live through everything not being as it should be through those precious nine months. How hard it would be to hold your breath, and then feel so relieved when baby girl finally got here… From the day she was born, she was in pain. She spent the first eight months of her life in pain. Sleeping 20 minutes at a time and screaming in between. Married life was not as we had imagined and everything but our baby girl got left behind. Before we knew it, by the time she was doing better, we had been married for years and between work, family life, and more work, we had barely had the time to just live it all in and enjoy being together. To enjoy being husband and wife.

Regardless of how hard life can be at times, we are beyond grateful for every moment. Even those hard ones. They really make you appreciate the little things… like getting to play bride and groom again hehe… and sometimes you just need to step back and let some of those first emotions light up again. That’s what this shoot was all about. Nina & Wes made us feel so comfortable in their presence, and we just enjoyed the ride. All of our hardships washed away for a while as we walked along the water and just relaxed together, in love. It was perfect!
