Forbidden Love Story Amidst Hauntingly Beautiful Ruins

Extraordinary is a loaded word. But extraordinary is just what this forbidden love story captured by Sposto Photography amidst the hauntingly beautiful ruins of the “American Acropolis” is. Our hearts skip a beat every time we glimpse the ethereal tulle gown from MYWONY Bridal, and paired with long berry stems + natural cream blooms from Petals and Pop Shop, the look leaves us breathless. Trailing ribbons from Tono and Co. add to the romance of it all, and we are forever enamored by the romantic bistro-style table design from Green Apple Event Co..

And how stunning is this loose tousled bridal updo created by Danielle Ryan Beauty?! Again, this is not real life! And if it is, we need to know her secret.

From the photographer, Sposto Photography: There’s nothing like standing in the ruins of something that once was so great. The folklore of “The Great Stone Church” is a legend about a tragedy of a young native girl named Magdalena who was tragically killed in the collapse. Magdalena and her secret love Teófilo, an artist who lived on the grounds, were forbidden to love because they were too young. The day the Earthquake struck, Magdalena was inside. As the walls came crumbling down, Teófilo ran inside to save his beloved and when they uncovered what lay beneath the rubble, they found the couple clinging to each other in one final embrace. Legend has it that on moonlit nights, you can still see a young girl’s figure in this very place. Our shoot was inspired by the young love that was once lost in this very place. Hauntingly beautiful, our model wore a ghostlike tulle gown that made her appear as if she was floating amongst the ruins of this ancient space.
