Flamingo Gardens Wedding

How could you make a wedding at Florida’s Flamingo Gardens even better? Add some styling from Katie of Unearthed Vintage, a surprise peacock or two, and capture it all with the help of Becca Borge, for starters. Carissa and Roy’s wedding was a relaxed affair with details for miles, so let’s jump on in!

From the bride, Carissa: We had originally envisioned a laid-back bohemian wedding with our toes in the sand on the beach. After falling in love with a lace, vintage-style wedding dress, we changed our setting to a quaint garden in Northern Miami. I am a wedding photographer in Western Pennsylvania and knew I wanted something different and unique than many of the weddings that I shoot. Hopefully my wedding can be an inspiration to other brides! We wanted a small, intimate wedding to celebrate with immediate family. We envisioned a laid-back and relaxed ceremony and reception outside, with a focus on detail. We will be celebrating with a pig roast back home with all of a large number of family and friends.

Our wedding was full of lace, vintage, laid-back and intimate details. Our color theme focused on soft-toned colors — primarily blush and light gray. I designed the flower piece on the back of our chairs at the sweetheart table with artificial flowers and lace. My sister and her husband are the owners of two Etsy shops and helped a great deal with our unique signs, menu-printed napkins and invitations. A friend also helped to make the bouquets and flowers on the tables.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Take a few deep breaths, everything is going to come together in the end!
