Festive Wedding Celebration at Millwick

This was the sweetest day and oh how I wish I was a fly on the wall of this wedding, especially at Ashley and Luis’s ceremony during her vows. I am such a sucker for custom vows and ones that make you teary! Pie-Shoppe snapped the entire day and night away and I love all of the love between these two that were conveyed through the images. Orange Blossom Special Events and Foxtail Florals teamed up and infused the whole day with lovely muted colors, wonderful blooms, romance galore, and brilliant Mexican decor.

From the event designer, Grace of Orange Blossom Special Events: Ashley grew up in LA, she has an affinity for individuals with disabilities, and has been fortunate to travel to amazing places like India, China and more. Luis grew up in Mexico City, he has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and somehow manages to win almost every competitive game he plays. They both love midcentury style, they love to stay up to date on local hot spots, and have a precious 5 pound puppy named Ella.

Ashley and Luis’ wedding day was beautiful! The overall look was modern, romantic, Mexican. It was very important to the couple that they incorporated Mexican details throughout. For the ceremony white papel picado was hung on the back row of chairs, and silver sacred heart medallions were along the aisle. At the reception Moravian stars they had custom made in Mexico were used as table top decor along with florals, and they also hung from the green installation pieces above the tables. They also had custom made papel picado with their names as accent decor on their sweetheart table, the bars, and the dessert table. For dessert they opted for a tiny cake, and instead focused on churros and a Mexican candy bar. Their guest book was a silver pinata. Guests wrote them messages on cards, and they will break it open on their first wedding anniversary. Jarritos sodas lined the back of the bar.

During her vows, Ashley shared a very sweet story that didn’t leave a dry eye in the room. After she had left Mexico and was trying to figure out what they would do about their long distance relationship (him in Mexico, her in the US) she and her mom did some international traveling. While in India she had a custom lock and key made. She and her mom then made their way to Paris, and while there Ashley attached the lock to the Love Lock Bridge. With that she made a private vow that they would make it no matter what, and that she made the choice in her heart to choose him, and choose her happiness. She then presented Luis with the key to the lock! He wore it the rest of the night. 🙂
