If there’s one thing that came to mind when we laid eyes on this urban loft tablesacpe, it was the Emerald City! Rich textures like velvet and wax are met with delicate counterparts of gold gilded acrylics and glittery geode embellishments. We can’t get enough of the grace and movement throughout this story, and the soft white florals from our very own a Leigh and Mitchell are enough to make our hearts pop.
From the planner, Alex of Willow & Ivy Events: Have you ever found one piece that speaks to you? One piece that screams “please design a shoot around me!” In this case, it happened with deep emerald velvet fabric. Once that called to me, we knew we needed to design an inspirational shoot that heavily featured the dark green velvet. Once that was decided, everything else fell into place. After a design and florals meeting with Erica of Leigh & Mitchell, the vision really came to life. Loose, light florals paired with the deep emerald and gold decor would bring an old meets new feeling to this shoot, photographed by Sam & Sola Studio.
We wanted to evoke that feeling of a warm and cozy old world wedding with modern and unique touches. What would be a better way to do this than through the paper goods? With classic calligraphy on modern pieces like acrylic invites and agate place cards, ink+sable did not disappoint. Block 41 in Seattle was the perfect spot for this theme as well. The former 1927 ice warehouse combined massive old growth timber and exposed brick walls gracefully with blackened steel and leather column wraps. Add a totally rad pattered wedding gown from Rebecca Schoneveld and amazing furniture like mid-century chairs and acrylic tables from Yay! Parties & Co. and you have successfully merged old and new.
