Elegant Wedding at the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music
Today’s beautiful wedding from 5ive15ifteen is the true definition of “pretty in pink.” Melissa Andre Events designed the decor elements and the floral arrangements, including the remarkable tall centerpieces at the reception.
From the photographers, 5ive15ifteen: Laura and Daniel were introduced through mutual friends in Toronto, Canada in March 2011. Laura recalls the prior New Years Eve when she was celebrating with friends and discussing her ambitions for the year ahead – with the topic of love on the table, friends suggested that they had the perfect man in mind and that Laura and Dan had to meet. Following months of anticipation, Dan showed up at her apartment one spring evening – a bottle of champagne in hand – and given the immediate sparks he asked her to join him for dinner. They talked for hours and couldn’t take their eyes off of each other, and it’s been that way ever since!
As they were living overseas in London, the wedding planning process was both challenging and exciting. Laura and Dan decided to have their wedding in Toronto, Canada, and the Royal Conservatory of Music would be their special venue. With the help of the very talented Melissa Andre from Melissa Andre Events, they pulled together an elegant, whimsical and festive party to celebrate the start of their lives together. As the wedding was on the weekend of Canadian Thanksgiving, Melissa created a unique theme that brought together friends and family from across the globe to enjoy both a beautiful modern wedding and a traditional Canadian Thanksgiving experience!
Their wedding day was met with crisp, Canadian, fall weather. Dan spent his morning having brunch with his groomsmen while Laura and her bridesmaids got ready in their suite at the Four Seasons Toronto with her makeup artist and photographer. Prior to the ceremony, they had their first reveal, which was a beautiful and touching moment for the couple. They spent the next few hours exploring Philosophers Walk at the University of Toronto, the groom’s alma mater, with their bridal party and photographers. The leaves on the trees were just starting to change colour providing an enchanting setting for the photographs.
This wedding was designed to marry the formal yet modern architecture at the Royal Conservatory of Music and the family-style feel of Thanksgiving weekend. Dozens of oversized peach blossom trees were specially designed and brought into the gallery-like space. The trees created a beautiful canopy of colour and texture around each picnic table. Custom chair pads were made for the benches and each guest was gifted a miniature take-home version of the personal apple pies served a-la-mode with ice cream for dessert. The rustic letter-pressed stationery was highlighted in rose gold foil ink and printed on plantable petal and seed paper. Picnic tables were lined in watercolor table runners and guests enjoyed their individual “turkey dinner” on blush colored milk glass plates. Flower-adorned rose sparkling cocktails were served well into the night. A decadent and luxurious blend of perfectly presented details with familiar personalized touches – making this the perfect party and wedding.
