Earthy Oklahoma Wedding Inspiration

Casual, vintage elegance was the inspiration for this shoot, and I’d say Leslie Herring Events nailed it. Vibrant pops of yellows, reds, and oranges along with the juxtaposition of industrial and natural textures suits the laid-back Oklahoma lifestyle perfectly. The talented Keidra LeJeune Photography was there to capture it all!

Hair and makeup was very simple. We wanted to accentuate the bride’s obvious natural beauty, not cover it up. Matte, neutral tones were used on the bride’s eyes, along with wispy eyelashes to complement her eye shape. Warm coral blush on the apples of the cheeks and a nude lip topped off her makeup. Hair was curled with a curling wand, and pinned back slightly away from the face, so her long hair would not overwhelm her face. Plus, she is the bride and we want to see her face, right? The gown we provided was Pallas by WTOO by Watters and it is a slim sheath gown with a deep v-neck and back and a mitered chevron pattern.

For the greenery “chandelier” we used salal garland, olive branches, pepper berry and tree of heaven intertwined on a repurposed, industrial cage. Potted succulents in a variety of painted terra cotta pots. Vintage wood toolbox planted with a variety of succulents. Gold and yellow painted wood board with nail head and twine heart with succulents glued into a cluster. The invites were inspired by tribal patterns with arrow accents to complement the vision for the ceremony. For the ceremony itself we designed coordinating program fans, menu cards, buffet labels, cupcake toppers, wine labels and small decorative flags.

  • What a great wedding! Do you have any information on what color of lining the bride chose for the Wtoo Pallas: white, ivory, or champagne? I am trying to decide which would look best if I select this lovely dress.
