Dusty blues, crisp whites, and luxurious greens are such a natural grouping that we can’t help but love them together in this styled shoot from Ashley Errington Photography and Allium Design. This team of vendors kept everything icy cool by adding touches of silver (like the wonderful metallic cake), which you can see peppered throughout the reception table. Love!
From the floral designers and stylists, Allium Design: There’s just something so delightful about a winter wedding… This inspiration piece gave us an opportunity to give a little nod to the season and play with a soft palette of grey-green and dusty blue. Our happy couple (a real-life pair) was given free rein to meander through the winter vineyard and Tuscan-inspired winery. The open hillside and stone throughout the venue’s decor offered the perfect neutral backdrop for styling the space. While the color palette was a large part of the design, we wanted there to be warm contrast to the cool colors and muted silver accents. We brought in a couch with cozy blankets and textural pillows and a plush white shag rug beneath it and added lots of lush greenery throughout to soften the stone. Then we layered on an endless supply of vintage candlesticks and dusty blue candles for a soft, romantic glow.
Perhaps we most enjoyed working with the little details here: the flower girl blowing snow down the aisle with her hair demurely tucked into a sweet wax flower crown, the simple cake, the elegant invitations (we are such suckers for gorgeous calligraphy). Spots like the cookie table (hooray for this beloved Pennsylvania tradition), the wine bar and that incredible hand-done wax paper ceremony backdrop have just the right touch of charm and are all easily incorporated into any wedding. We loved creating and photographing this inspiration shoot. So while we can’t help but yearn for warmer weather ahead, the thought of this little gem has us feeling quite nostalgic about a few flurries.
