Dusty Blue Beach Wedding Inspiration
Don’t let the cooler weather fool you — it’s still as beautiful a time as ever for a beach wedding. Don’t believe us? Just take one look at this beautiful inspiration shoot from the talented team of Ashley dePencier Photography, A Lovely Creative, and Sylvan Floral, who banded together to create a stylish beachscape with cool blue tones, bridal separates, and a woodsy tablescape all captured on film photography.
From the photographer, Ashley dePencier Photography: The inspiration for this shoot was drawn from the dusty blue hue of the ocean on an overcast June day in Santa Barbara, California. Photographer Ashley dePencier along with designer and planner Kelsey Elizabeth of A Lovely Creative curated a design board drawn from nature, including light and airy colors and textures found by the sea. The bride is wearing a dress designed by Chantel Lauren called Mae, with a full skirt that mimics the ever flowing colors and movement of the ocean waves. The couple’s rings, crafted by Baxter Moerman are delicate, yet casual in design still exuding romance with hints of sparkle. The bride’s head piece was handmade by Jolie USA and adds just the right amount of accessory to this high cut neckline of Mae. The bride’s hair and make up was the perfect undone look, with beach waves by Jenny of Blushing Beauty.
Photographing on film, we went to work styling a reception table draped with La Tavola linens and Silk & Willow hand dyed napkins. We carefully chose fabrics that pulled textures from nature, but added a contrast of romance and elegance. The table was adorned with florals curated by Carla Wingett of Sylvan Floral, based locally in Santa Barbara. The couple send invitations hand calligraphed by Sophia Uretz of Sophia Loves Letters and chose a cake painted and adorned with hand selected mussel shells from the central coast to accentuate their love for the ocean. Whitnie Elrod of Paper Cake Events brushed each mussel with gold, allowing them to stand apart from the white and gray-blue cake. Sunset was the ideal time for this bride and groom’s beach session where we frolicked in the waves and flowed with the breeze. This inspiration shoot ended with a playful time for the couple in the sand and waves. The perfect backdrop was the sunset and stark white beachy-cliff.
