A darling artichoke farm played host to Amy and Trevor’s cozy Airbnb wedding where terra cotta textures and potted plant decor overflowed. Jeannene Lillie Events guided them through the uncertainty of a pandemic, while creating an impeccably sweet Plan B so they could wed in the presence of their closest friends and family. Cassia Forêt Floral & Event Design dressed up the Airbnb with a mix of peach, sage and marigold blooms, plus some fluffy pampas plumes for good measure! The gleeful wedding day moments Araka Walker Photography captured, from the “first touch” to the Bride’s surprise serenade for her groom, will tug at your heartstrings faster than you can say awwww. We can’t wait for you to see Amy and Trevor’s day in full below!
From the Planner and Designer, Jeannene Lillie Events: Amy and Trevor were originally planning to get married at their local church but when COVID-19 restrictions threw those plans for a loop they decided to host a micro wedding at a nearby stylish Airbnb located in the artichoke capital of the world; Castroville, California.
The Airbnb they picked was an incredibly stylish location with a fun and classic bohemian-ish eclectic vibe which inspired the design for their intimate celebration. Jeannene, owner and lead planner of Jeannene Lillie Events, created Amy and Trevor’s wedding design based on the natural charm and decor of the location. The whole vendor team worked together to create a design that utilized the amenities and decor of the venue while also bringing in the bride’s love of terracotta and garden florals and adding in touches of artichokes as a nod to the venue!
While getting ready, Amy had a special reception reveal which was the first time she had seen all the designs come together given the short timeline. The abundance of joy and gratitude she expressed was the best reward a vendor team could ever receive. Amy and Trevor also did a no-look first look and prayed together prior to meet at the end of the aisle.
The love, support, and adoration of this couple’s friends and family was palpable from the moment Amy and her dad started their walk down the aisle and continued throughout the whole night. Amy and Trevor exited their ceremony through a tunnel of love and tossed lavender by their loved ones. They then celebrated with an intimate dinner cooked by the groom’s mother and a delicious cake made by the groom’s sister.
The wedding night ended with their guests enjoying a surprise performance by Amy as she sang and played her guitar as a wedding gift to her new husband, Trevor.
