Coral Wedding with a Flower Ceremony Backdrop
Who doesn’t need a nice dose of bright colors in winter? Allison and Chris’ whimsical wedding uses a color palette of coral and grey with a beautiful array of flowers and succulents, including dahlias, garden roses, and craspedia. Artistrie Co., Life in Bloom, and Midwestern Bride did beautiful work here!
From the photographers, Artistrie Co.: This Rivers Restaurant wedding is what dreams are made of. With floral design by Life in Bloom, make-up by Joanna B Artistry, hair by Debra Petrielli, coordination by Midwestern Bride, and DJ-ing by Toast & Jam, where can you go wrong? That’s a dream team of Chicago wedding vendors if I’ve ever seen one! Add that to a beautiful outdoor setting along the Chicago River, and you have found the most perfectly adorable wedding ever. Allison and Chris’ summer soiree was bright, cheerful and perfectly them.
In honor of it being Sunday, Allison had the most adorable little mimosa bar set up in the hotel room as the ladies got their hair and make-up done. There was even a little sign that said “Sundays are for mimosas” which I couldn’t agree with more. Allison’s bridal suite looked out onto LaSalle Street where the couple would meet to see each other that very afternoon. The bridesmaids dressed in bright coral dresses with aqua blue necklaces and the men donned light gray suits with coral ties — a perfect combination for summer! This wedding party was so much fun to work with as we traveled around the city for portraits. My favorite stop was a bright teal painted building featuring a large mural of a moose blowing bubble gum. The wedding party lined up in front of this mural with their own version of bubble gum which made for one of my favorite photos of the year.
When the wedding party arrived to Rivers Restaurant, the festivities were ready to begin. The ceremony backdrop by Life in Bloom was a showstopper. Allison, Chris and their wedding party stood in front of a soft white curtain featuring floating vases of flowers as the couple exchanged their vows to one another. As I learned during their engagement session, Allison is a self-proclaimed confetti queen. Naturally, she had packets of confetti for each guest to toss as the newlyweds walked hand-in-hand down the aisle. It was a beautiful ceremony! Afterwards the patio transitioned to the dining space for their romantic riverside reception. The patio featured long tables, chevron linens, brightly colored blooms, succulent name cards, and beautifully strung bistro lights. Guests enjoyed the views of the city from along the river as they dined and sipped on the couple’s signature drink: Michigan apple sangria. The whole day was perfect from start to finish.
Thank you so much for featuring Allison and Chris’ wedding day! It was one of my very favorite weddings to photograph in 2015.
