Converted Train Station Wedding

A wedding with a bride in ballet shoes, centerpieces in sterling silver pitchers, and a jaw-dropping Free People installation over the sweetheart table is everything our little hearts could ask for. Rachel and Ryan’s wedding was nothing short of perfection (especially thanks to the endless talents of Geneoh Photography and Bloom Designs, and the bride’s own mother), and we guarantee you’ll walk away with tons of new ideas for your own wedding day!

From the bride, Rachel: Our hope was for our guests to experience and love Northern Minnesota as much as we do. It truly is the most lovely place on earth. Simple and laid back was the feel we envisioned. I used lots of neutrals, dusty rose, and gold. Whatever I dreamt up, my Mom, Lori Murray, made happen. She helped me collect mismatch overstuffed chairs for my head table, antique silver pitchers for our centerpieces, vintage tea cups and china, old hankies, and lampshades she recovered, wired and hung throughout the space for up-lighting. A beautiful hand made Free People display was extracted from the Mall of America to hang over the head table. Thousands of pink and white sequence were wrapped on each hand glittered branch and stuffed with frosted globe lights. All things wood were the handy work of my Dad and Ryan.

I love the simplicity and delicacy of baby’s breath so I had my bridesmaids carry that. I always dreamt of a solid Peony bouquet – and although I had missed prime Peony season, Amy Jobe and Kate Keupers surprised me with the most perfect soft pink peony bouquet. It had me smiling all day long.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Set a wedding planning end time and stick to it. Ryan and I agreed that after the rehearsal we would let the chips fall. It forced us to enjoy our guests and each other and reminded us what the weekend was really about.
