California Orange Grove Summer Wedding
What better spot for some summery wedding inspiration than a California orange grove? Brooke Bakken Photography, Lucky Day Events Company, and Studio Ooh La La by Doily Design Haus came together to create this refreshing and cheery wedding scene, full of citrus color tones and a hearty shaped ceremony backdrop made of — what else? — oranges.
From the event stylist, Tatiana of Lucky Day Events Company: It only took one dreamy vision of a California-cool, citrus-infused wedding filled with lovely details to bring together 9 contributors in 5 days. Living and working in sunny Southern California, we’ve become familiar with warm breezes, hours upon hours of yellow sun and the effortless, laid back feel of summer time. Looking to encapsulate all of those elements led us to create a feel that was both fresh and romantic. Nodding to classic California inspiration, we chose a darling orange grove to give life to this styled shoot. Working closely with our team we looked for a way to tie in a clean wedding aesthetic with the organic nature of the citrus in the grove. We picked our palette from the very location we were shooting in; tying in the cool shades of green with the tans from the ground and the soft pinks of the surrounding blooms.
We didn’t want to overpower the natural beauty of the grove, so we opted for a wooden table and bar set-up along with jade glassware to complement the scenery. Loose, overflowing florals and lush greenery tied it all together and let’s talk about how adorable this real-life couple is! Smitten on Paper’s stationery was as flawless as the icing on our cake and we capped off the day with some DIY mojitos from the interactive bar. We loved playing around with all the natural light and who wouldn’t want a ceremony under a canopy of orange blossoms?
Yay! Thank you so much for the feature, we loved collaborating with everyone on this team!
