Austin has our heart for its charm and equally stylish weddings. This one captured by Jennifer Lindberg Weddings is certainly no exception. With what might very well be the most adorable flower girl and ring bearer we have ever seen, Mel and Bill’s wedding at Hotel Saint Cecilia is a colorful feast that we can’t help but make our hearts happy:
What was your style vision for your wedding?
Simple and chic, inspired by mid century modern and Art Deco design. Our invitation suite was black, white, and gold with gold patterned envelope liners so in addition to the venue those set the tone. I wanted the tables to be simple but not rustic. The flowers were bright and deep reds, vivid and pale pinks, and bright white blooms with dark lush greenery.
The cake was free of the top 8 allergens, gluten free and vegan. They were topped with fresh fruit and nuts a la an inspiration from my Pinterest vision board. The rest of the dessert table was designed by JD and featured cupcakes from Hey! cupcake and edible gold foiled macaroons.. The 100% gluten free and dairy free meal was catered by the hotel and it was amazing. 6 months later we are still getting comments about it!
What are your top three memories from your wedding day?
1. Having everyone we love be there with us (including Mel’s childhood best friend and her husband who co-officiated the wedding) and to have them all so excited for the weekends events (the Franklin Barbecue rehearsal dinner, especially!). Bill’s mom had the decorations custom made for Franklin’s, the tables and decor were incredible!
2. The impromptu walk up the street to the continental club after our wedding dinner for music and dancing. Our videographer, Chris Jones of Mason Jar Films, struck up a conversation with the band and they surprised us by dedicating a song to us so we could have a “first dance”.
3. Despite not wanting a tent in the week leading up to the ceremony, being so glad we got a tent!! The rain poured down in the hour prior to our ceremony (thank goodness for JD’s insistence on a tent, the tables would have be ruined without it!) but then miraculously cleared for the ceremony and dinner afterwards. The entire wedding was perfect. JD listened to my feedback during the design process and brought our shared vision to life.
