Today’s styled shoot is inspired by modern decor, black and white styling, and of course, bow ties. Pinks, yellows, and greens shine against the black and white foundation, and Jenn Finazzo Photography knocks it out of the park not only behind the camera, but also as the stylist, florist, and cake designer. Talk about a quadruple threat!
From the photographer, Jenn Finazzo Photography: Although I ripped the name straight from Justin Timberlake himself, I think he would be proud. And he would look GREAT in our chocolate bow tie. Too bad he wasn’t available. The true inspiration behind this shoot was the black and white decor of the venue in Charlottesville, VA. It immediately got me thinking of the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami. The signature Morris Lapidus bow tie tiles in the lobby quickly became the next inspiration. The bow tie design is featured all around the FB hotel. In the artwork, tiles, napkins and the delicious brownies in the coffee shop. Once we got our hands on the dark and white chocolate brownie bow ties it was game-time.
Our favorite bridal shop was having a Charlie Brear trunk show that week. While I love all of their designs, I immediately fell in love with the tea length number. It was going to go amazingly well with the stunning Emmy London Francesca heels. To die for. The shoot was coming together. Both UK based designers were on board! It took all I had not to log on and track these delicious Francesca shoes at every moment as they arrived from London. They arrived on time with a sweet note from the designer herself. What a nice touch.
Now, for the color. I knew I wanted to throw a pop of color in with the black and white. The vintage mustard yellow ribbon from Etsy shop, Planstar was the next vision. It went extremely well with the beautiful velvet hot pink Mrs. Box provided by Suz Somersall. Also from Suz, the Deco Ring, The Rope Crystal Edwardian Cuff, and the Pearl Gemma Drop Earrings. Then came the roses. The garden roses. The David Austin garden roses. Ahh! I have a secret love for florals and really wanted to design them myself. From the green hanging amaranthus and jasmine to the black and white anemone, these gorgeous florals were lighting up my house for days before the shoot! Not to mention the 20 feet of lush garlands made of Ivy, Springerii, jasmine and variegated pittosporum. The cake was also made by me. A white chocolate mosaic design on the outside topped with the white bow tie chocolate and dusty rose Turkish delight. I love how the colors on the cake contrast with our model’s hot pink lipstick in the “second look” shots.
