Autumn Wedding at the Roth Estate

Autumn Wedding at the Roth Estate

Josh and Cate’s wedding was one for the books in every way. Their goal was understated elegance with nods to nature, and the talents of Danielle Poff and Thistle and Honey certainly helped them to achieve this. The couple also used Pantone’s color of 2015, Marsala, in brilliant ways, showing up all over the place from the tablecloths to the groom’s tie!

From the bride, Cate: We love being in nature and wanted to bring nature in tasteful, romantic ways to our wedding day. I would describe our look as understated elegance, woodsy, personal to us — not just something we saw online that looked pretty, romantic. Our colors were Wine/Marsala, Sage, Blush and Gold.

I custom made, stained, and painted all of our signs (roadside, welcome, directional). The centerpieces included custom cut wood slices purchased from Etsy, table tables hand painted by Kenny Wong, and lanterns which were purchased at IKEA but spray painted Rose Gold by my lovely momma. The furniture used at entrance and for communion were pieces from my home. Our entrance table included crates that I stained myself, a frame we painted gold, hand painted name cards from Kenny Wong (which were my favorite part of the decor: our guests were asked to take their name card but replace it with a Polaroid of themselves so that instead of having a guest book with a bunch of names, Josh and I now have a photo album of all of our wedding guests!). The ribbon wands for the exit were created by knotting three strands of ribbon to a craft stick! We were allowed to use confetti, flowers or sparklers at our venue so we had to get creative here.
