Artistic Botanical Wedding Inspiration
Goodness, where to begin with this beautiful styled shoot from Pat Robinson Photography, Clawmade, and Devon & Pinkett? With dusky blues, lovely anemone, and hanging embroidery hoops at the reception, it’s giving us all kinds of good feelings. Oh, and we can’t possibly forget the incredible cake with sugar flowers — just wait ’til you see it!
From the shoot designer, Clawmade: The color palette and aesthetic were inspired by the slightly muted tones seen in nature when winter slowly gives way to spring. Green was our dominant color, seen in the beautiful Verde watercolor skirt by Sweet Caroline Styles, as well as on the table and throughout our greenhouse venue, Cake. The dusky blue calls to cloudy skies and the last frosts of the season. Mauve is seen in the earliest spring flowers like hellebores, which Devon & Pinkett included in the bouquet and floral arrangements. Our accent color was copper, inspired by late winter’s dramatic sunsets and spring’s first warming rays of sunshine. Art-inspired details like embroidery and hand-painted decor complemented the shoot’s botanical vibe. Papertree Studio teamed up with Ruth Jahja of Seniman Calligraphy to create an invitation suite featuring botanical illustrations, speckled texture accents, and on-theme stamps.
Pat Robinson Photography and Solidity Films captured the couple inside the lofty greenhouse-turned-restaurant venue and around the surrounding neighborhood of Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia. The bride wore an ivory lace top and the gorgeous Tennyson skirt in Verde by Sweet Caroline Styles and the groom wore a dusky blue suit jacket with floral-patterned pocket square. Gina Kay of True Beauty Marks created a bold romantic look with corset braids laced with silk ribbon and fresh greens and florals to complement the embroidered decor details and kept the makeup soft and natural. The bride’s pearl studs, ear climbers and all rings were designed by L. Priori Jewelry.
Fox & Finch’s vintage furniture was foundation of both the dinner and lounge vignettes. We paired the European farm table and wooden folding chairs with Clawmade’s embroidery and copper installation as a backdrop. Speckled votives with Ikeabana-style floral arrangements were the centerpiece of the table, flanked by hand-painted charger plates, textured glasses, and brass candlesticks. The vine-covered cake from The Master’s Baker looked dreamy (and delicious) on Fox & Finch’s clover-shaped table. For the lounge, Fox & Finch’s Silver Fox settee was the focal point, with embroidered and blush armchairs, sweet side tables, a jute rug, and gorgeous floral arrangements by Devon & Pinkett to finish the scene.
