Winter might be coming to a close, but it’s shoots like this one from Briana Arlene Photography, Kennedy Events and Design, Flourish Floral Artistry, and Ruffled vendor guide member Darling + Pearl Letterpress that will make us miss the colder temperatures. Not only are all the details a beautiful nod to Mother Nature, but she popped her head in to bring a stunning rainbow along for the ride!
From the event designers, Kennedy Events and Design: I’m excited to share this winter wedding inspiration with you! Although Mother Nature kept us on our toes with rain, wind, and major temperature changes throughout the day, she became the star of the show by providing a vivid rainbow — jaw dropping gorgeous! When dreaming up the vision for this photo shoot, I was inspired by ideas of cozy hot chocolate, hazelnuts, and nature-inspired winter elements. However, this vision is different than the typical dark colors associated with winter; I envisioned a whimsical, nature-loving bride in a light, airy setting loaded with blush and neutral colors. Who says winter can’t be pastel? The blush and neutral color palette was rounded out with pops of plum hues and lots of greenery. Since nature-inspired elements were a large part of the overall vision, Howard County Conservancy was the ideal location. Their historic barn is set on acres and acres of gorgeous rolling Maryland hills. Briana Arlene Photography perfectly captured this vision!
Torn-edge letterpress invitations set the tone of the photo shoot by pairing elegant fonts with the slightly rustic-style paper. Mixing sophisticated and rustic styling continues into each detail by combining elegant jewelry, flowing chiffon wedding dress, and traditional furniture with the nature-inspired elements of a greenery backdrop, textured buttercream cake with rosemary, loosely arranged florals, and a winter picnic spread. The bride’s adventurous, nature-loving personality comes through in the winter picnic scene. Another fun-loving element is the bride’s sweet puppy! I love when couples choose to include their pets in the wedding festivities. I can’t get over this dog’s blonde coloring and floral collar — one of my favorite details! The most magical moment of the day was the appearance of a full sky of rainbow. It was such a surprise and perfectly timed for some incredible bridal portraits. The rainbow quickly came and went in the matter of less than one minute, but we were so fortunate to have captured that moment.
