Abby + Kurt's Vintage Valentine's Day Wedding

Here’s a fun Valentine’s Day wedding, shot by Katherine O’Brien. Abby and Kurt got married at the Barr Mansion, a gorgeous venue in Austin, Texas. Vintage Valentine’s Day cards were used as their escort cards, hung from a clothes line and secured with clothes pins. They even had a friend show up dressed as cupid, fully prepared with a bow and arrow. Abby had the guitarist change from “Here Comes the Bride” to “Here Comes the Sun” as she was walking down the aisle, a nice surprise for guests. Thanks Abby for sharing your day with us, we wish you and Kurt a lifetime of happiness!

Below is a wise man (from a nativity set) that’s half lifesize and my family has used it to prank each other for a long time (like, they’d leave it in the shower so you pull back the curtain and there’s an almost-human sized wise man there so you jump.) He made a surprise appearance at my wedding. šŸ™‚

  1. I giggled at the wise man, how fun! Makes me wish I still had this teal puffball my sister and I spent a summer hiding for each other. But yes, need to see more – that sneak corner of her dress is gorgeous and I’m so curious what the rest looks like! And CUTE shoes…how’d they get the dragonfly in the heel?

  2. What cute photographs! I love the white poppies, paper dollies and the vintage postcards-really romantic. How can you beat having a cupid!

  3. The ranunculous bouquet and the skirt on the wedding dress are breathtaking! Love the photos!
