Magical Forest Wedding Under A Canopy Of Twinkling Lights

Ann Travis Events conjured a woodland fantasy, transforming the Planterra Conservatory into an unforgettable scene filled with memorable moments, like the bride’s 92-year-old grandmother tossing petals down the aisle and late-night bites, both savory and sweet, honoring cherished favorites and family heritage in one delightful sweep.

Everyone wants their wedding day to be personal, but Amanda and John’s wedding day really knocked it out of the park with all of the special details throughout. With COVID restrictions, they ended up cutting about 70% of their guest list to only include family and close friends, so making the day meaningful was a big priority. From starting the day getting ready in their own home to serving Taco Bell (Amanda’s favorite) as a late-night snack, each moment was personalized.
For the ceremony, Amanda’s 92-year-old grandmother was the flower girl, who led the processional with her decorated walker and petal basket. The couple’s Pomeranian, Priscilla, was supposed to join her, but unexpectedly passed away earlier in the year. John surprised Amanda by wearing socks with Priscilla’s picture on them to honor her. For their traditional Antiochian Orthodox ceremony, vows are not read, so the couple wrote letters to each other to read before the wedding.
The pair dreamed of getting married in the woods, so chose the next best thing with the Planterra Conservatory, a beautiful greenhouse venue filled with trees and lush greenery. Adding in a string light canopy and hanging tea light candles made their magical woodland reception a reality. They surprised all of their guests with an Arabic drummer for their grand reception entrance as a special way to honor Amanda’s Lebanese heritage. For their second dessert, they had milk and cookies with milk from Guernsey Farms Dairy, which was founded by John’s grandfather and still in the family.
There’s no denying this magical forest wedding is a star in its own right.
